At Arete Exped, your safety is our highest priority. Every expedition we organize is rooted in meticulous planning, risk management, and a deep respect for the environments we explore. Whether you’re summiting a high-altitude peak or trekking through remote wilderness, we ensure that every aspect of your journey meets the highest safety standards
All expeditions are led by seasoned professionals with advanced certifications in wilderness medicine, mountaineering, and risk management. Our guides are not only technically proficient but also trained to make critical decisions under pressure.
We conduct detailed pre-expedition briefings, including physical preparedness assessments and equipment checks. For select expeditions, we offer optional (and sometimes required) acclimatization or skill-building programs.
Each expedition is equipped with satellite phones, GPS tracking devices, and first-aid kits. We maintain a direct line of communication with base operations and emergency response partners at all times.
Our guides are trained in Wilderness First Responder (WFR) or higher certifications. Security in Remote Regions

Equipment & Standards
From technical climbing equipment to camping gear, we only use high-quality, tested brands. We inspect and service our gear regularly, and any rented equipment meets or exceeds international safety standards.
In both frontcountry and backcountry environments, we enforce strict hygiene protocols to prevent illness and maintain health. This includes water purification, food safety, and waste management.

What We Ask of You
Safety is a shared responsibility. We ask our participants to:
- Follow guide instructions at all times
- Be honest about medical history and fitness levels
- Use designated equipment properly
- Communicate concerns early and clearly
We also encourage all participants to purchase comprehensive travel and evacuation insurance prior to departure.
